Y'all in Europe don't drink water. Like ever. I just got back from a two week "vacation" across several EU countries and I have never in my life seen a continent so collectively opposed to the concept of free and abundant water. Go to a restaurant? No water. You have to ask for it. BEG even. Forget about the tap water because they don't even treat it so it isn't drinkable. And when you do get water? It comes in a tiny bottle that costs 3.50€ and contains less fluid than a Capri Sun. And it's room temperature. Not cold just tepid and judgmental. Meanwhile I can easily be drinking 64oz big gulp jugs of ice water with rootbeer flavor packets added like it's my constitutional right (because it is) British people faint the second it hits 23°C (73.4°F). French cafés close in "heat waves" that wouldn't even break a sweat in Alabama. Italians start declaring national emergencies when it's sunny and Tuesday. If you've ever wondered why Europeans wear scarves year round and smoke so much it's because their internal organs are crying for moisture and they're trying to die with dignity.

I don't know where you have been. West german Bernd here. We have treated tap water and Bernd and many other people drink it. The supermarkets are full of water bottles from 0.5l to 8l. Starting at about 15 cents per bottle. Tap water is even more cheaper like you pay 2-3 € per month a can use how many you want. Indeed, most Germans like sparkling water, so there exists a soda stream. So you can make tap water into soda at home. Well, one thing Bernd has to admin: You don't get free water in restaurants, that's true. But this is some capitalistic thing. In France that's different. Bernd was last year in France for holidays and there you get your free water in restaurants. Also you can drink tap water in France too. So this thread is either a trap, oettinger or you have been in Rumania.

Some water tastes like nothing. Some water tastes good. The water that tastes bad has bad stuff in it. The water that tastes like nothing is filtered. The water that tastes good has good stuff in it. Carbonation enhances the flavor. If carbonated water tastes like nothing you had the filtered flavorless water.
