How come imageboards don't have raids / brigading / invasions anymore? We used to do them all the time back in 2006 - 2011, did everybody just get too mature for them?
>>20365 >How come imageboards don't have raids / brigading / invasions anymore? They sucked.
We get "raided" by the fingols here and then.
>>20365 >did everybody just get too mature for them? I guess. I never got them. It was annoying for like 30 minutes when it happened to your imageboard of choice, and they were absolutely boring to participate in. Why would I spend my evening going through captchas to post a kc dogwhistle on some other board, where it gets deleted immediatly?
>>20372 >>20366 Well to be fair back in 2008 there were those 4chan raid vids on youtube like that one with the dinosaur music and dicks raining down some website that got pwned. Back then people thought its fun and hot shit. Until they realized their target just runs a backup and its all gone. Fucking waste of time.

The sharty does them all the time
>>20390 >The sharty does them all the time. I've never heard of that website before. Are you an old-age there?
Raids were banned on the original KC because KC gets retaliated against

We aren't kids anymore
>>20365 >did everybody just get too mature for them? Somehow <Uuuh look at me, i can make other people on the internet angry It's nothing special anymore. The magic is gone.
>>20401 >I've never heard of that website before. I wish I lived under the rock that you live under. >Are you an old-age there? Haven't visited in a while, it was never high quality but somehow in the last 2 years it's gotten even worse. Hacking 4chan was quite funny though. With the influx of new people to that site though, they can't really raid as well as they used to anymore. Being young and having loads of free time is one thing, but you also need to have some level of self control so you don't just get banned immediately, which a lot of newer posters there didn't seem to have last time I went there.
>>20401 >never heard of that website This will tell you all you need to know. https://edramatica.com/Soyjak.party Tl;Dr: they mostly spam random small image boards and think they are l337 h4xz0rz. Except that one dude actually did something pretty awesome when he fucked over 4gag temporarily.
I saw several Finnish raids back then on original kc enlisting Bernds to sway some internet popular votes on the mainstream media was also a thing there was some lackluster attempt at a raid on kohl from Poland a couple of years ago overall, not that fun to participate
>>20524 I remember those. We would always try to get this danish children's food company to pick disabled children for the cover of their products. They did it the first time but caught on the second time.
>>20365 Yeah and I miss how people's life's were destroyed instead of celebrating their garbage content.
>>20606 That fucking song was buried deep in my brain. Thanks for making my night, I lol'd hard.
Raids are a youthful sort of extravaganza to display the power of the group and youthful ignorance. Sharty and kiwifarms and discords are probably the last scions of raid culture but to a lesser degree. A lot of older raids were done when the countering still wasn't as mature as it is now. In terms of spam and other niggery, there's tons of more massive leviathans who will pick up the slack and add potential to the sagas of kimmo alm and other faggots who ddos'd sites like that one pedo who's spamming kiwifarms and 4chan at the moment.
I barely have will power to write replies now.
>>21496 >the power of the group I think big part of it is that imageboards aren't so "tribal" anymore. We live in a sort of multicultural globohomo age of imageboards where all the old small "tribes" are dead and most posters on all boards lurk multiple boards or have done so in the past. Internet culture as a whole got really homogenized. I can't really tell the difference between Steam forums, xitter or imageboards these days.
>when KC raided nairaland
>>21505 That's a very good point. And to expand on that, everything feels centralized. I can't think of any unique part of the English speaking internet that has any distinction.
>>21491 Got you covered.
That Arabic song as they sing it with long vowels give a bit of Finnish vibes. One of the Suomibernds should give a listen and write lyrics that fits the melody and rhymes (at least a bit) with the Arabic.
>>21555 Sprölö us sawarim, nashid ul ebin.
>>20365 >How come imageboards don't have raids / brigading / invasions anymore? Because those were basically expressions of childish curiosity and harmless humor. It was basically some juvenile pranking. Nowadays that feeling is simply missing because everybody got hollowed out by social media and/or jaded by image boards.

>>21563 Feel better now? :3
>>21555 I don't really see the point in spending so much effort to make actual lyrics for it when none of you speak Finnish. I could just put some Finnish sounding gibberish in it and it would be equally meaningless to you. I have been thinking of making Finnish lyrics for this song though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhO9j0G61Ac
Sometimes on some other site people troll subreddits with fake posts but that's all I can think of. I miss raids too, but as others have said, it's harder to do when all you have to target is massive corporate social media sites. Trolling is still very much a thing though. Easiest mode is to just take whatever dumbass political philosophy they're circlejerking about and turn up the intensity and see how long they'll agree with you.
