Does Bernd like podcasts? Which ones do you listen to the most? I regularly try to listen to Lex Fridman, because he has interesting guests, but most of the time I quit after a few minutes, because he kinda sounds like a retard, I think it’s his way of speech.
Yeah, but mainly Swiss and German podcasts, so recommending them on /int/ won't make much sense. Just kidding, 90% of the Bernds here are German, Swiss or the hyena-loving Austrian
>>20075 There are more austrians than me here. Ernstchan had a lot of Austrians and they all here now.
>>20075 Recommend the German ones please, I’m dying for some good ones in my native language
>>20076 Right, half of the radio Bernds seem to be Austrian. Maybe they don't lurk on /int/, because next to every Austrianball, there's a picture of or a comment about hyenas.
>>20078 Thats exaggerated. Even I with my obsession for those noble creatures post like 90% non hyena stuff.
I listen to Rest is History, David Shapiro, Black Box Online Radio (a low budget true crime bodgast) and many others t. Youtube top consumer
>>20077 Nothing fancy or secret tips. My number 1 podcast is literally the number 1 in Switzerland (Echo der Zeit). A podcast I listen to every new episode of is Geschichten aus der Geschichte, also super popular. Related to that one is Plus Ultra, and a similar topic but not related is Eine Stunde History. Other podcast I occasionally listen to: International (SRF), Deutschlandfunk Presseschau (mostly the international episodes), Deutschlandfunk Hintergrund (unless it's too Germany-specific). Some popsci podcasts in my list are Methodisch Inkorrekt, Synapsen and Quarks Science Cops.
>>20081 >Rest is History Will add this to my history podcasts, thanks. I trade Behind the Bastards, but with the caveat that about half of the episodes are about history and the other half is about modern American politics. I didn't count, but I'm annoyed by too much politics, that's why I'm giving a warning here. Maybe it's just my impression, but it shifted more towards current affairs and away from history over time, so if you're into history, dig through the older episodes.

I listen to peter diamandis and his singularity stuff. Seemed freakish 10 years ago but now with the world economy being all in on AI he was right all along.
This was before podcasts, but I used to listen to this guy Art Bell on AM radio at night. (for those that don't know, AM frequency has very poor quality but the signals can travel far). Art Bell's Coast to Coast show would talk about aliens and the supernatural.. And there was always some controversy going on with Art, that he couldn't give you the full details of yet. So there was always this lingering mystery that the CIA or some government crackdown was happening to Art for revealing dark secrets. Me and my sister would get baked on weed far out in the woods and listen to Art's live voice crackle through the speakers, revealing the latest government alien conspiracy. He'd have callers call in with their wacko stories. It was a great experience and I haven't had it since those times.
No, I listen to the radio, as a normal person I am no hipster
Some times Joe Rogan or Jordan Peterson will have someone interesting on, but I don't do it often. >>20073 >most of the time I quit after a few minutes, because he kinda sounds like a retard, I think it’s his way of speech. I've got sames.

>>20140 Is that a normal thing in the Dominican Republic? In Germany mostly old people still listen to radio, others just listen to podcasts and stream music. >>20141 It's also about what he says, I often feel he doesn't have anything meaningful to say and asks bad questions to his guest. That's also a reason why I can't listen to someone like Joe Rogan, I think he lacks depth.
>>20145 >Is that a normal thing in the Dominican Republic no idea, i dont talk with people and to be honest, it's been like 4 years since the last time i turned on the radio
>>20145 >That's also a reason why I can't listen to someone like Joe Rogan, I think he lacks depth. True. However he has a generally good attitude, I appreciate that.
I used to listen to The Daily Shoah and all of TRS's affiliated podcasts up until the implosion of the National Justice Party. After that debacle, I only occasionally check in with them to see what they're up to, but for the most part, I've checked out of political podcasts. All of it is just noise until something happens. That all being said, Borzoi and Moike occasionally have something insightful to say and do what they can to avoid putting out bullshit. I used to listen to Myth of the 20th Century, although their prep has gotten a little sloppy, so I haven't listened in the past year. Vid related: the highlight of TRS in the past five years. Svenpai's righteous anger.
>>20225 Related to that, what is Bernd's favorite radio station? I really like this Swiss Classical station: https://www.radioswissclassic.ch/en
No. Very low density and subpar absorption of information compared to reading text. For everything I can learn on a podcast, I can learn 5x as many things just by reading a book, article, or even having a well-curated Twitter account. The fact that so many listeners end up developing a parasocial relationship with the hosts makes me even less inclined to bother with them.
not really. I mean if i find an interesting youtube channel it will eventually either turn into a shitty content mill or they start doing podcasts with their uninteresting friends and sometimes i click the podcasts a couple of times but it's usually garbage.
>>20273 You can listen to the same podcasts over and over again. For example there is a German 6 part podcast about Peter Thiel and it's so good, I just relisten it again and again.
I listen to Insiders(a TV show but still), Planet America, Question Time, Forces News Sitrep pod cast and sometimes Bloomberg podcasts.
>>20271 for me, none i like to check every station, i used to find ephemeral stations with only music that were amazing, great for finding new music popular radio stations only played popular music

"The Rest is History" has already been mentioned, I like it quite much. The other one is "Real Dictators", the production value is just great. They seem to do a lot of research and interview experts or people from that respective time periods as well. In general, I like podcasts with dense information, I don't care about smalltalk and lots of "uuhs" or "uuums".
