de Bernd 2025-11-02 17:40:35 No. 19726
Next Wednesday a handyman will enter my flat to check something. It's a mess in here and I don't want anyone to enter my home.
That's the best motivation to clean your mess. Air your room.
>>19728 The main problem is dust, I don't have a vacuum cleaner and I just don't care. Airing the room I already do half the day.
>>19729 It's cold outside, close the window.
I had windowfitters walking in and out of my flat for several weeks recently, hated that shit and spent several days cleaning like a madman before it started so they wouldn't report me to the landlord (they would have done, it was hoarder tier here)
>>19726 Call your mom and ask her for help
>>19738 My strategy is closing the doors to all rooms except the kitchen (they need to check the ventilation there), remove the dust from the hallway and kitchen a bit and bring the things in order. Won't do any thorough cleaning, fuck them for disturbing my peaceful Bernd cave.
>>19729 I can recommend one of these new battery powered vacuum cleaners. I vacuum way more with it than with a mains powered one because they are so convenient and have plenty of power for their purpose.
>>19742 Check your local tenant rules. In Ontario, LandLords can only enter for the reason specified in advance (in your case, the kitchen). My last LandLord tried to turn every entry into a general inspection, so I started roping door knobs together, putting furniture obstacles in front of rooms, etc.
Just learn to clean on a day to day basis. It’s not that hard.

>>19779 That's why I will never rent from private landlords again. With the big property managements you know they know what they are allowed and not allowed to do, like surprise visits or spying on you.
Oh Bernardo’s you can’t imagine my suffering, tomorrow the reaper will com… still have the cleaning to do t. Procrastination pro
It was a Polish dude who was like 5 minutes in my kitchen, realized he's not allowed to open the ventilation duct, only removed a bit of dust and then left. Pretty good experience.
>>20043 Then do it now. At least start a little.
>>20173 It's already over, no cleaning will be done until the next handyman comes
I'm forced to clean up once a week because I'm allergic to dust. t. suffering pro
Handymen dont give a fuck. They see dozens of apartments and houses per week, they dont even have time or energy to think anything about the stuff they see. I had a plumber over when me and roommates were heavy drinkers. There was a pile of empty beer cans in the kitchen, really big, it would fill several big plastic bags. All the guy did was smiling and saying "not bad" and i knew he was a fellow alcoholic
>>20190 They usually get hired by the owner of the apartment, not the tenant, so if there is something seriously wrong with the state of it or the apt. is so messy they can't do the work they WILL report it. Had it happen to me once.
>>20192 I live in a flat of a municipal housing association, they can’t do shit to me
>>20175 How did he react to the mess and filth in your apartment?
>>20241 He didn't react at all, maybe didn't even notice it. He rushed into the kitchen, did his work and then quickly left.
>>20247 Then why clean at all the next time? It does not seem like they care.
>>20192 yeah, but how bad would you have to fuck up your flat so that a handyman calls the landlord? trash and dirt alone isnt enough.
>>20350 If it wasn’t superficially clean they might notice
>>20373 The job was about descaling the boiler which is in the bathroom, and it being a small studio apartment I put a load of stuff there for which I had no other space at the time including a couple of empty aquariums. The guy was probably pissed because it cost him like 15 minutes, but he didn't say much. It didn't get any official warning notice or anything, just a call a few days later to clean it out but it still was rather embarrassing so I'm paranoid about workers these days.
Next Tuesday we have an inspection but my bug sister is on holiday so she left a list of things my little sister and I have to do... Sigh...

I had one guy to come and check something and he left pretty soon but now my shower is broken and i am afraid the repairman will report me for having such mess here i haven't cleaned in months
>>20437 Boys aren't supposed to wear girl cloths, idiot. >>20436 Ohh, I miss spelt big..
>>20443 That makes it fun though.
>>20458 So early, so mad.
>>19726 Once, a friend of mine texted me, and told me he's gonna show up at my door in a couple minutes, with his gf. I began to clean and tidy in turbospeed warp 9000 mode. We chatted for literally like 15min at most, she had to use the toilet, etc. This happened every now and then, usually like once every other month or so. Over the course of like around a year or so, I gradually began having a more and more tidy apartment, etc. It was never perfect, but just enough to not be completely embarrassing. It looked like a normal, lived-in apartment at the end of it. Many years later he told me that was his way of trying to get me to move something in my life and perhaps even jostle me out of my depression a little bit. Honestly, I quite appreciate that. If only the thought of it and the fact that he tried to be helpful without bossing me around etc.
>>20522 I wouldn't have let him enter
>>20522 >I began to clean and tidy in turbospeed warp 9000 mode I had a somewhat similar experience once woke up late with a heavy hangover and was lying in my bed watching some TV then one my ex who I hadn't seen for a long time, booty called me out of the blue she also said I need to be clean shaven down there damn, in like 1 hour I cleaned the whole flat, washed dishes, changed linen, took a shower, and shaved
They will report you for being messy on the Europe? Do they fine you too? tbh idk how it is in murika, I haven’t lived in an apt for several years.
